It was quite difficult not to get excited about the new destruction system in Unreal presented at this year’s GDC. The team presented something truly stunning with Marvel level of destruction. Let’s have a closer look at the system with a talk from GDC.
“In this talk by Matthias Worch, Jim Van Allen, and Michael Lentine during GDC 2019, you’ll get a first look at the future of physics and destruction in Unreal Engine, starting with 4.23. Check out the features that give creators the tools they need to build highly interactive worlds that can be dynamically fractured, shattered, and demolished,” states the destruction.
The future looks quite bright, and we can’t wait to get our hands on the new system. Still, it’s quite early to discuss its performance and the way it will work in projects. Share your thoughts on the talk in the comments below.
